Attention, locavores! Artisanal LA, a lovingly curated of local, artisanal and mostly affordable foodstuffs returns this weekend — with over 60 vendors and a new location.

Last time around, we discovered I Heart Pies and cold-brewed coffee cola. This time around, look for Cast Iron Gourmet and their popular bacon trail mix, SQIRL jams, the deconstructed/reconstruced Cake Os from Cakes Suzette, free coffee from Intelligentsia, cheese from Soledad Goats, the White Moustache Yogurt Company, oils and vinegars from Global Gardens, and $6 sandwiches from Daily Dose, which opens April 28th in downtown L.A. (Their Artisanal LA menu will include a turkey meatball sub and a pulled pork sandwich with broccoli and cabbage slaw.) Also in play: no less than 11 different chocolatiers and confectioners.

Also, look for appearances by Ani Phyo, author of Ani's Raw Food Asia, as well as Erik Knutzen and Kelly Coyne, authors of The Urban Homestead. (You may know them as the folks being sued by the obnoxious Dervaes family, who want to trademark the commonly used term “urban homesteading,” despite the backlash it has created.)
