Child Pronounced Dead after Fatal Boating Accident at Buckskin State Park
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (June 2, 2022) – Sunday, Arthur Garcia was arrested after fatally striking a 7-year-old girl at Buckskin State Park.
The incident occurred around 5:00 p.m., in the river near Buckskin State Park.
According to reports, the young girl had been swimming in the river when a passing boat struck her.
Responding crews arrived and rushed the victim to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Authorities eventually located the boat driver, Arthur Garcia, 37, of Indio, and charged him with operating under the influence, causing death or injury.
At this time, officials have not released further details about the fatal accident. Meanwhile, CHP officers urge anyone with information to contact Colorado River Station at (760)326-9200.
