The last time we saw the Rave-Ups — was it at the Music Machine or Raji's? — we weren't exactly on our best behavior. But those days are over. Or are they? Now the Rave-Ups are playing “An Evening of Art, Live Music and Great Food” — so, yeah, those days are over. While diners bask in the art of Gronk and Gus Harper, Il Moro's lovely patio is the setting for the Rave-Ups' rootsy rock. Many remember the band from Pretty in Pink (Molly Ringwald was a big fan). The sound was hook-heavy, jangly, rootsy rock to R.E.M.-ember. These days, singer-guitarist Jimmer Podrasky, guitarist Terry Wilson, bassist Tom Blatnik and drummer Tim Jimenez still play those glorious songs, such as their biggest hit “Positively Lost Me,” along with some new material. We will be the one not spilling our wine. Il Moro Restaurant, 11400 W. Olympic Blvd.; Sat., June 30, 9 p.m.; no cover, but patio diners w/resv. get priority seating. (310) 575-3530; ilmoro.com.
