On Saturday, Aug. 26, the Broad modern art museum kept its doors open late for the latest installment of its monthly Summer Happenings series, featuring music and performance art combined with the museum's temporary and permanent exhibits. The brutally loud guitar assault of A Place to Bury Strangers and the experimental rock of Xiu Xiu headlined the evening, which also featured appearances by performance artists Keijaun Thomas and Ron Athey and a “xenolalia” room featuring “speaking in tongues” collaborations between poets and musicians.
