The kidnapping and sexual assault of a 19-year-year as she left work at the Westfield Topanga mall sent shockwaves through the community.

But the LAPD moved fast and today, eight days after the heinous crime, cops announced that a Lancaster teen has been arrested in connection with the attack:

The department says 19-year-old Kioki Ray Snowden is their man. He was arrested yesterday on suspicion of kidnapping and rape after serving a search warrant at his place, according to an LAPD statement.

Cops say evidence from the case was found at the residence.

He was being held in lieu of $1 million bail, according to police.

Detectives say they expect the District Attorney to file charges Monday, but that's really up to the D.A.

The attack started about 5:30 p.m. on the 4th of July when the victim got off work and standing next to her car in the mall parking lot, police said.

A suspect with a knife confronted her and forced her to drive him around, cops say. Over a three-hour period he attacked her and also used her ATM to get cash, the LAPD alleges.
