If you ask us, Arnold Schwarzenegger is getting a little soft in his old age.

At the tail end of his stint as our Republican governor, he got quite cozy with Democratic leaders. And he has parked in his Westside garage a decidedly girly-man car—the eco-friendly Tesla Roadster.

This is a guy who helped to bring the military machine known as the Humvee to the masses, and who then made the civilian model, the Hummer, a four-wheeled middle finger to bleeding-heart environmentalists everywhere. And now he's getting rid of a nerd-stomping truck that's the European cousin of the Hummer?

Spotted for sale on an online German auto marketplace is a 1977 Mercedes-Benz UNimog U1300 SE purporting to be part of the actor's car collection.

The model, originally made for military uses, is said to be California-legal. This despite its Prius-crushing 22-inch wheels and 315-horsepower turbodiesel engine. There are seat belts for four in the truck-bed, so your friends can, al fresco, point their fat, robusto cigars at the poor people below and laugh.

One photo shows that the actor has signed the glovebox cover, which is the least-macho feature in the whole, 5-ton Merc.

Arnold, as we all call him, reportedly purchased the flatbed, “short cab” truck for $250,000, so the asking price of about $269,784 might not be so bad, considering that it could have some value as a celebrity-driven collectible.

It's not exactly clear why Arnold is selling this silver, subtle example of German luxury. But maybe he hasn't gone completely Al Gore on us:

He still owns a tank.
