19-Year-Old Man Died in Pedestrian Crash on Palo Hacha Drive

TUCSON, AZ (May 2, 2022) – On Monday, Armando Raul Rodriguez died in a hit-and-run crash near Ironwood Hill Drive, police said.

The pedestrian accident happened near West Ironwood Hill Drive and North Palo Hacha Drive, according to reports.

Furthermore, authorities immediately responded to the scene upon receiving the report about a crash between a pedestrian and a vehicle.

Upon arrival, paramedics discovered 19-year-old Rodriguez and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Authorities say evidence indicates that Rodriguez was either in the bicycle lane or the southernmost eastbound lane for vehicles on Ironwood Hill Drive when the accident happened.

The vehicle, believed by police to be a white 2013 or 2014 Ford F-150 pickup, continued east on Ironwood Hill Drive after the crash. Moreover, the pickup should have front-end damage as a result of the collision.

Additionally, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties; however, an active investigation is currently underway.
