Man Died in Traffic Crash on Cloverfield Boulevard

SANTA MONICA, CA (June 24, 2022) – Tuesday morning, 21-year-old Armando Hernandez died in a pedestrian accident on 10 Freeway.

The accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Cloverfield Boulevard, near the eastbound 10 Freeway ramp, per initial reports.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a motorcyclist struck Hernandez, 21, who was attempting to cross the freeway, under unknown circumstances.

Officers responding to the scene located Hernandez and pronounced him dead due to the extent of his injuries. While other paramedics took the driver to the hospital for medical care.

At this time, officials said it is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.

Moreover, the crash temporarily closed the area until crews finished clearing the wreck.

Santa Monica police continue to investigate the fatal crash and will release further information once available.
