Fatal Head-on Crash near Olive Avenue Left Three Injured and One Dead
EL MIRAGE, AZ (July 12, 2022) – Wednesday night, police responded to a fatal collision that killed 11-year-old Arianna Gannon.
The crash, involving a pickup-truck and a sedan, happened on July 6th, around 6:30 p.m., near El Mirage Road and Olive Avenue.
According to police, the occupants of the pickup-truck, 28-year-old Adrian Ballesteros and his girlfriend, were arguing as they traveled southbound. Ballesteros, who was the passenger, grabbed the steering wheel, causing the vehicle to veer into oncoming traffic. The pickup-truck collided head-on with a sedan traveling northbound.
Due to the impact of the crash, Gannon was ejected from the vehicle. Authorities pronounced her dead at the scene.
The other passengers, Gannon’s sisters, 14-year-old Angelina Gannon and 16-year-old Anneliese Gannon, and the driver of the car, 53-year-old Maggie Suggs, were rushed to a local hospital.
Meanwhile, authorities arrested Ballesteros and charged him with one count of manslaughter and five counts of endangerment.
