Are you going to Anime L.A. this weekend at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott? If so, you can catch your LA Weekly convention team, that's Shannon Cottrell and I, on two panels Friday afternoon.

At 1 p.m. on Friday, will be in LP3 for “Con Going 101.” Here's the official description:

Con Going 101's panel is a panel designed for those attendees who are new to conventions. This can be someone whose ALA 2011 is their first con or even if they've been attending conventions for a short period of time, to even those who are seasoned attendees but want some helpful hints on making their convention time easier on them.

At 4 p.m., we'll be moving over to LP2 for “Reporting Anime Conventions.” Again, here's the official description:

Scarlet Rhapsody and California Conventions Blog share what it is like to experience conventions from a journalistic approach. If you were ever interested in covering anime conventions, the basics are covered from getting started on a website to all the right equipment. Get ready for this crash course in online journalism!

If you're there, stop by and say “Hi.”
