Last week we saw temperatures in the low 80s in the Los Angeles area. On Monday, however, the National Weather Service posted a “record event report,” and it wasn't for sunny weather. It was for rainfall, in Long Beach, which posted a benchmark half an inch of precipitation, beating out the .45 record set in LBC in 1976.
