April at the Farmers Markets

Spring has come to Los Angeles farmers markets, bringing stinging nettles, fennel, fava beans, and English peas, as well as lilacs — only available for a few weeks in Southern California — and citrus. Kumquats. Meyer lemons. Check out our virtual grocery list, taken at the Santa Monica and Pasadena farmers markets. And yes, it tastes as good as it looks.
