Antonio Rojas Involved in Multi-Vehicle Collision near Atwater that Resulted in One Fatality
MERCED COUNTY, CA (November 21, 2022) – Early Tuesday evening, Antonio Rojas and Rayanne Jawad were involved in a fatal multi-vehicle crash in Santa Fe Drive.
Officers responded to the incident around 5:17 p.m. between Santa Fe Drive and Avenue Two near Atwater.
According to the California Highway Patrol, an eastbound 2015 Nissan sedan driving on Avenue Two made a left turn onto Santa Fe Drive directly in front of a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser.
Subsequently, the impact sent the Nissan into the southeast, where it struck a 2018 BMW.
Responding personnel declared the Nissan driver dead at the scene. Authorities only identified the deceased victim as a 52-year-old woman from Winton.
Meanwhile, the Toyota driver, Rojas of Merced, and the BMW driver, Jawad of Atwater, did not sustain injuries.
Merced County Officials are asking anyone with information about the Santa Fe Drive multi-vehicle crash to contact CHP at 209-356-6600. An active investigation is currently ongoing.
