Two Injured in 2-Car Accident on Highway 99W in Corning
CORNING, CA (February 4, 2022) – Antonio Rodriguez and Damaris Griego were hurt in a two-vehicle crash, Sunday afternoon.
According to California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 2:50 p.m., near the intersection of Highway 99W and Gallagher Avenue.
Reports indicate that the accident was between a 2001 Toyota Tacoma and a 2015 Toyota Corolla.
Furthermore, investigators determined that the northbound Tacoma slowed down to turn left onto Gallagher. The Corolla driver failed to stop in time and rear-ended the Tacoma, due to excessive speeds.
Eventually, paramedics arrived and transported the Corolla driver, identified as 29-year-old Griego, to a local hospital with major injuries.
Meanwhile, the Tacoma driver, identified as 53-year-old Antonio Rodriguez, declined medical care on the scene for minor injuries.
