Driver Arrested after Traffic Accident near Kerman

FRESNO, CA (September 20, 2022) – Saturday night, police arrested Antonio Orosco following a DUI collision on Shasta Avenue.

The incident happened on September 17th, at about 9:18 p.m., at Highway 180 and Shasta Avenue near Kerman. Police said the accident involved a 2003 Honda and a 2017 Acura.

According to reports, a Honda driven by Orosco veered into the path of the Acura being driven by a woman and caused a collision. The 21-year-old woman from Mendota died at the scene.

Medics arrived shortly after and discovered four other injured passengers of the Acura. Paramedics transported the victims to the hospital for the treatment of injuries.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested Orosco with charges of drug impairment and vehicular manslaughter. The area was also closed for several hours and was reopened.
