38-Year-Old Man Killed in Vehicle Accident on El Cajon Boulevard
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 7, 2023) – Friday night, Antonio Mateo lost his life following a pedestrian accident on El Cajon Boulevard. The incident happened shortly before 9:30 p.m., May 25th, in the 5000 block of El Cajon Boulevard. According to reports, a 24-year-old woman driving a 2016 Honda Civic westbound in the left lane struck a man who tried to cross the road under unknown circumstances. Bystanders then tried to stop traffic on the road, however, a 22-year-old man in a 2010 Toyota Corolla did not understand the commotion and continued driving and ran over the pedestrian. First responders performed life-saving attempts but the pedestrian later died from his injuries. Police identified him as 38-year-old Antonio Mateo.
