Elderly Man Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision near Folsom Street in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (April 15, 2021) – Saturday afternoon, 78-year-old Antonio Durano of San Francisco, was killed in a hit-and-run crash near 3rd Street.

According to CHP, a vehicle struck Durano near Folsom Street around 1:10 P.M.  Following the impact, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene but later returned.

Meanwhile, an off-duty police officer who witnessed the collision was able to render aid to Durano. Paramedics arrived shortly after and transported him to a local hospital where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.

The driver was later identified by police as 19-year-old Othman Alghazali. Per reports, he was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run.

In addition, the surrounding area near 3rd and Folsom Street was closed for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, no further details have been released. Although, an active investigation is still underway. Once available, more information will be provided.
