Driver Arrested after Fatal DUI Collision on Main Street in Orange

ORANGE, CA (August 6, 2021) – Sunday afternoon, Antonio Contreras was arrested after a deadly DUI accident on West Sycamore Avenue.

The crash happened around 4:00 p.m., at the intersection of West Sycamore Avenue and North Main Street. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after.

Per reports, 23-year-old Antonio Contreras was driving a Honda Accord at a high rate of speed when he crashed into a Mazda Protege making a left hand turn.

Due to the impact of the crash, the Mazda driver was pronounced dead. However, his identity was not disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

Moreover, Contreras was arrested and charged with gross vehicular manslaughter while driving under the influence. In addition, Antonio Contreras was unharmed.

At this time, the accident remains under active investigation.
