91-Year-Old Woman Killed in Fatal Two-Car Accident on Citrus Avenue

MENTONE, CA (April 22, 2021) – 91-year-old Antonia Portillo was killed in a fatal two-car collision on Citrus Avenue, Saturday.

The fatal crash happened around 11:10 p.m, on April 17. According to sources, Portillo was a passenger inside a Mazda CX-5.

Per reports, the CX-5 was heading east on Citrus Avenue, and began to make a left turn onto northbound Crafton Avenue. There, a southbound Mazda 6 ran through the stop sign at the intersection and crashed into the front left of the CX-5.

Paramedics transported three people to Loma Linda University Medical Center. Another team took three others to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

Despite life-saving efforts, Portillo was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Authorities have not confirmed if drugs or alcohol were factors in the accident. Although, an investigation is currently underway.
