Anti-Trump Protesters Descend on Downtown L.A. and March Onto the 101 Freeway

Large crowds of people filled the streets around downtown Los Angeles Wednesday night and early Thursday morning to protest the election of Donald Trump. Protesters displayed signs in opposition to the president-elect's proposed policies and groups shouted “Not my president.”

The crowds assembled in front of City Hall, and eventually several hundred people marched onto the 101 freeway, shutting it down for several hours. Police clad in riot gear stopped traffic and faced off with the protesters who were blocking traffic on the typically busy freeway.
