The Pegasus School, a non-profit private day school located in Huntington Beach, Calif., unveiled the Geisler Family Wings building, a new multipurpose library, at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 30. Students, parents, donors, faculty and the board of trustees attended the event to celebrate the opening of the state-of-the-art facility, which will help support and teach students from pre-k to eighth grade.
In addition to housing the newly constructed library, the Geisler Family WINGS building features small group study rooms, additional instructional spaces, offices for learning specialists and a loft for students to play and learn. The facility’s Launch Pad room also contains a performance stage and a 120-inch digital display wall for instruction. According to the Pegasus School, this project will nearly double the amount of shelf space for books in the existing library.

The Geisler family’s commitment to this project is deeply personal. After transferring their eldest daughter to Pegasus in first grade, the family quickly became invested in the school’s mission and values.
“Transferring our eldest daughter to Pegasus was a pivotal moment for our family,” Geisler shared. “We sought a school that could nurture her talents and provide a supportive, enriching education. The positive experiences and exceptional growth our daughters have enjoyed at Pegasus played a crucial role in our decision to support the WINGS building.”
The building is part of the Pegasus School’s Wonder, Inspire, Nurture, Soar project (WINGS), which aims to renovate the campus’s facilities through construction projects fully funded by community donors. Construction of the Geisler Family Wings building was primarily financed by a donation from the Geisler family.
“We envision the Geisler Family Wings building as a hub of inspiration and growth, reflecting our commitment to nurturing individual talents and fostering a lifelong love of learning,” said Geisler. “It is our hope that this building will provide students with a vibrant, supportive space where they can explore their passions and develop confidence, just as our daughters have.”
The WINGS project also includes campus beautification as well as the construction of two additional outdoor spaces. Synder Langston, a contracting company selected by the school for its experience building on campuses, constructed these new facilities over the last year, beginning with the demolition of the occupying structure last June.
The ceremony concluded with the head of school and lead donors, surrounded by Pegasus School students, cutting the ribbon to officially open the building. The Geisler Family Wings building has been designed with a focus on community, and it now serves as the heart of the Pegasus School campus.
