Deadly Cerritos Motorcycle Accident Leaves One Fatality

CERRITOS, CA (June 4, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a motorcycle crash on 91 Freeway that claimed the life of Anthony Tyrone Boyd Jr., Sunday morning.

According to CHP, the crash occurred around 2:35 a.m., on westbound (91) Freeway, just west of Shoemaker Avenue.

Reports stated that a 2008 Yamaha R6 veered behind a 2013 Ford while traveling at about 80 mph. As a result, the motorcyclist rear-ended the party-bus traveling only at 50 miles per hour into the #2 lane.

Shortly after, responders pronounced the motorcyclist, identified to be Anthony Tyrone Boyd Jr., 37, of Long Beach, dead at the scene. However, the condition of the driver of the party bus, 61-year-old Padashi Cyrus of Arcadia, remains unknown.

At this time, police have not released any further information about the crash.
