In light of the turmoil of Gamergate and the huge gender imbalance in Hollywood, Cinefamily’s Animation Breakdown: Women in CGI is especially relevant. Hosted by Vice film columnist Jennifer Juniper Stratford, it’s a rare presentation of early works by 87-year-old computer animator Lillian Schwartz and game developer Ashley Zeldin, and stunning pre-digital 1950s oscillographics. At the end of the night, there will be interactive works by female L.A.-based developers.
