Police Identify Angelita Rose Van Roon as the Victim of a Pedestrian vs. Auto Accident

SAN DIEGO, CA (August 31, 2021) – Last Saturday morning, Angelita Rose Van Roon, 28, died after being struck by several vehicles along Ingraham Street.

The fatal accident happened around 4:15 a.m., on August 28. First responders arrived at the 2500 block of Ingraham Street to preform life-saving measures, unfortunately Van Roon was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to reports, Van Roon was walking on westward on Ingraham Street when she made an attempt to cross the center concrete median.

As she attempted to cross she was hit by a southbound Honda Civic along with two additional vehicles.

Moreover, the driver of the civic, a 24-year-old man, stayed to cooperate with officials. While the other two drivers fled the scene immediately after.

Authorities are unsure why she was in the roadway, as an active investigation surrounding the crash is currently ongoing.

Furthermore, officials closed the street for cleanup and investigation.

More information will be released about the fatal pedestrian accident, once available.
