Pedestrian Collision near American River Parkway Resulted in Death
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA (August 31, 2023) – Early Monday morning, a possible hit-and-run collision on Interstate 5 claimed the life of Angelina Irene Parson. Based on the investigation, a vehicle in the exit-only lane struck Parson while she was trying to cross the freeway. Police responded to the incident around 4:15 a.m. along the northbound lanes of Interstate 5, south of Garden Highway near the American River Parkway area. Upon the officers’ arrival, they located an unconscious woman on the right shoulder of the freeway. Officials identified her as 32-year-old Angelina Irene Parson. Authorities pronounced her dead at the scene. Authorities believed that the suspect was driving a 2016-2018 Chevrolet Malibu or a similar vehicle with possible front-end damage.
