While hunkered down in Los Angeles, it’s no surprise that the city has had a hankering for comfort food during the pandemic. According to Postmates, top items ordered since March include spicy chicken and sushi. Diet Coke, White Claw and Ben & Jerry’s pints of ice cream top the list at  convenience stores, and the most ordered items at grocery stores have been bananas, eggs and La Croix (helps explain the homemade banana bread explosion).

The popular delivery app saw a 72 percent increase in frozen yogurt orders in April and May (comparing 4/19-5/19 in 2019 versus 2020,) which could be attributed to the heat wave or just being unable to go out for a walk to grab froyo during shelter in place.
