16-Year-Old Esteritta High School Student Seriously Hurt in Pedestrian Crash near Trellis Lane

GALT, CA (March 21, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash on Ayers Lane left 16-year-old Angela Renteria in critical condition, Monday night.

For reasons unknown, the driver of a vehicle struck Renteria while she was walking her dog just a few yards from her residence along Ayers Lane.

Upon impact, the involved driver failed to render aid to the severely injured girl and immediately fled the scene near Trellis Lane.

Paramedics responded and immediately transported Renteria to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. At this time, Renteria remains in the hospital after suffering from head traumas, brain bleed, broken bones, and other injuries.

Additionally, a fundraiser page was eventually set up to help with Angela’s recovery and medical expenses. Investigators say Angela Renteria is a a sophomore at Esteritta High School.

Moreover, Galt Officials are encouraging anyone with information about the hit-and-run suspect to contact Detective Mark Fewel at 209-366-7005. Once available, further details will be provided.
