2-Year-Old Girl Killed in Rollover Collision on North 25th Avenue

FRESNO, CA (March 24, 2022) – Thursday, authorities arrested Angel Meza-Michel after a fatal solo-car crash on Interstate 5.

According to California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred just north of 25th Avenue shortly before midnight.

Based on investigation, police said 29-year-old Meza-Michel, of Richmond was driving a 2007 Honda south on the freeway when he drifted onto the shoulder.

Meza-Michel eventually lost control and overturned the vehicle near 25th Avenue. As a result, the 29-year-old driver suffered major injuries and was sent to a nearby hospital.

Meanwhile, his passenger, a 2-year-old girl whose identity was being withheld, died from her injuries. Police also said they arrested Angel Meza-Michel on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The surrounding area was closed for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties before it was later reopened.
