In the 1980s, comedian Andrew Dice Clay was quite successful at helping people form very strong opinions about him. His chauvinist Brooklyn shtick amused and angered the appropriate groups and Clay went on to a briefly successful Hollywood career, which flamed out shortly after he starred in 1990’s The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, a film whose origins began in the pages of L.A. Weekly in 1980. Now in his late 50s, Clay has written a memoir, The Filthy Truth, and he’ll be promoting it with a screening of Ford Fairlane as well as a Q&A.
