The latest single from the album that lives in our imaginations, “Die Hard,” featuring Eminem, will premiere on the finale of Showtime's Fight Camp 360 : Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley tonight at 7PM PST on Showtime, and 11AM PST Saturday, May 7, on CBS.

From a press release that just landed in our inbox:

MEDIA ALERT! MEDIA ALERT! MEDIA ALERT! MEDIA ALERT!

LEGENDARY PRODUCER AND RECORDING ARTIST DR. DRE TO UNVEIL “DIE HARD” FEATURING EMINEM FROM HIS UPCOMING ALBUM, DETOX.

Sigh. Oh, Dre, we want(ed) this album so much, but this is getting a little ridiculous. Last November, when the legendary West Coast producer addressed the first leaked single, “Kush,” we wrote:

But naysayers who'd given up on Detox as an empty promise can stop shaking their heads: What's supposedly the first single was leaked yesterday, and Dr. Dre called in to Power 106's “Big Boy's Neighborhood” this morning to discuss its “unfortunate” early release.

Claiming to need a couple more songs, he said the album should be ready by the end of January, though he sounded a little nervous about fans' “anticipointment.”

January???

Although we're still pulling for Dre (and, let's be honest, mostly looking forward to the heat that Kendrick Lamar undoubtedly has brought to Detox), if the “I Need a Doctor” video is any indication, he's stressed. We'd rather him rest easy. Even if that means backing out of the wedding at the altar.
