Thanks to more political and social unrest, natural disasters and football coaches–turned–Chester the Molesters, 2011 was yet another challenging year. Since 2005, the folks at Upright Citizens Brigade have been honoring the year's lowest lows with a variety-meets-awards show. This year, Justin Michael and Jacob Reed of the sketch comedy duo Tremendosaur are hosting UCB's The 2011 It Sucked! Awards. The two, who've written for Comedy Central and Funnyordie.com, have invited Andy Richter (Conan), Brian Huskey (Adult Swim's Children's Hospital), Brandon Johnson (Adult Swim's NTSF:SD:SUV::) and other yet-to-be-named guests to hand out awards in such categories as news, science, academia and celebrity, which will surely include those man-made disasters the Kardashians and their reign of terror. You made this happen, America. Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, 5919 Franklin Ave., Hlywd.; Wed., Dec. 28, 7:30 p.m.; $5. (323) 908-8702.
