If you think the 405 just got a little more Camageddon-like this week, you're right.

In fact, if you'll recall, Carmageddon was the weekend 405 closure in 2011 that turned out to be a dud. People far and wide avoided the area, and traffic was fine. But if you shut down the Sunset Boulevard off-ramp from the northbound 405 in Bel Air, all hell breaks loose:

According to traffic data app maker INRIX, the four-month ramp closure that started Friday night really had its impact during the Monday morning commute:

By 8 a.m. traffic was backed up from Sunset to the 10 freeway, and it took 12 minutes to go four miles. That compares to less than five minutes for four miles the previous Monday, the firm says.

The time to get from Bundy Avenue, one exit to the west of the 405, to the north-south freeway was a whopping eight minutes at 8:30 a.m. yesterday, says INRIX.

It gets worse. INRIX notes that once public schools spark up and UCLA students return to campus in September, traffic in the area will increase by 25 percent.

INRIX's suggestions? Leave early, of course. Avoid Sunset Boulevard. Carpool. Pray. (OK, that last one's ours.)

Jamie Holter, INRIX traffic analyst:

L.A. drivers are hard-core. We don't expect drivers to make any changes in their habits until traffic backs up to the 91. … Once school starts, this commute will get really tough, really fast.

Like we said, pray.
