Get your favorite heels on, the long-awaited sequel to Sex and the City premieres on HBO Max Thursday, December 9. And Just Like That catches up with Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) as they head into the next generation of their friendships updated with podcasts and dating apps.

Returning SATC characters include Chris Noth as Mr. Big, the late Willie Garson as Stanford Blatch, Mario Cantone as Anthony, Evan Handler as Charlotte’s husband Harry Goldenblatt and David Eigenberg as Miranda’s husband Steve Brady.

The ladies are still trying to figure things out in this new chapter and there’s no better way to toast the series debut than with a Cosmo. From a purple Cosmo to the Not-So-Cosmo, these recipes from mixologist Elyse Blechman are new and glamorous variations of the iconic pink drink for your viewing party.

Blechman says that one of the most common mistakes is to over-pour the cranberry juice. A proper Cosmopolitan should be “blushingly pink.” Flame the oils of your orange zest twist with a lighter over the drink if you want a dramatic finish. When shaking, remember to wake the drink to life, do not rock it to bed.

See you next Thursday:
