Update at 1:53 p.m Sunday: The suspect shot by cops is dead. Get his ID and more video from our sister publication, OC Weekly (click this sentence), which is all over it. First posted at 11:28 p.m. Saturday.

Cops shot non-lethal rounds toward men, women and children and unleashed a dog who charged toward a stroller during a clash with mostly Latino residents in Anaheim following an officer-involved shooting there.

The confrontation happened about 4 p.m. today in the 600 block of N. Anna Drive, according to the Orange County Register.

That report indicated that another clash brewed around 8 p.m. …

… at East La Palma Avenue and Anna Drive, which is where a cop originally opened fire on a suspect, injuring him and setting off some residents. The man was in critical condition, the Register said.

The subsequent uprising led to three arrests, according to the paper.

CBS Los Angeles reported tonight that residents remained at that intersection and that a dumpster had been placed in the middle of the street.

The station said that a dumpster was torched, too.

Its footage from earlier in the day seems to show officers as the aggressors as they fire into a crowd that looks like it's picnicking. A woman, her stroller and man appeared to be bowled over by a police dog that proceeds to clamp down on the man's arm.

According to our sister paper:

Sources have told OC Weekly children were present when police fired on the crowd.

The OC Weekly says tensions have been high between residents in the area and cops over a rash of officer-involved shootings.

[Update at 1:53 p.m. Sunday]: The suspect targeted in the original officer-involved shooting is dead. OC Weekly has his ID and has added additional videos of the situation. Protests against the police were planned for today.
