Two Killed in Fatal Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident on Plummer Street

CHATSWORTH, CA (January 19, 2022) – Thursday evening, Ana Hernandez and Matthew Zink were killed in a hit-and-run on Knapp Street.

According to police, the crash happened around 7:10 p.m., when the driver of a 2006 red Toyota Tacoma hit two bicyclists.

Paramedics immediately responded to the scene where they discovered the two deceased victims.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez caused several other collisions with multiple vehicles and property, ultimately crashing into a wall on Knapp Street. Authorities later identified the hit-and-run suspect as 58-year-old Nelson Rodriguez, of Chatsworth.

Chatsworth officials also identified the deceased victims as Ana Hernandez (37) and Matthew Zink (58).

At this time, Rodriguez remains in jail on $4 million bail.
