Sweets from the sea and the oven, here’s what’s popping up starting tonight in L.A.

Tonight Ayara Thai in Los Angeles will host an oyster street party in front of their restaurant. Beginning at sunset, guests are invited to enjoy raw and grilled oysters with varieties like Thai-American Oysters in quantities of half-dozen, dozen and individual. Wine and bubbly specials by the glass and bottle will also be available while supplies last. Ayara Thai’s Shuck Yeah! Oyster Street Party features oysters served raw with mignonette, ponzu-ginger and chili-lime sauce or grilled with cilantro roots, garlic peppercorn, butter and cheese.

Holiday gift-giving and entertaining just got a little bit sweeter thanks to Astro Doughnuts‘ holiday boxes of Christmas and Hanukkah doughnuts.  The comfort food eatery famous for its artisanal seasonal doughnut will feature an assortment of holiday treats for the holiday season.

For the eight days of Hanukkah, December 22-30, Astro will serve doughnuts inspired by the Festival of Lights, including the traditional Hanukkah fried jelly doughnut, sufganiyot, will be available as a full-sized treat and in mini form as part of the Hanukkah dozen box.  There’s a Hanukkah Cookie doughnut featuring a shortbread crumble, covered with vanilla icing, Hanukkah sprinkles and crowned with a Star of David

Through the month  of December there’s also a Christmas cookie doughnut  with vanilla glaze, shortbread crumble and finished off with royal icing, Christmas sprinkles and a vanilla Christmas sugar cookie, plus the chocolate candy cane doughnut with chocolate peppermint glaze topped with  chopped candy cane and more.

This year, Los Angeles-based and certified kosher bakery,  Sweet E’s Bake Shop is offering Star of David butter shortbread cookies to sweeten up Hanukkah celebrations.   The cookies are available now for in-store pick-up in L.A., as well as nationwide shipping.
