An Ode to the Fruit Carts of Los Angeles

Fruit carts: the sudden neighborhood rainbows found on sidewalks and street corners all around this town. The vendors set up shop, with fruit stacked like jigsawed produce sections. Vendors will slice your fruit to order, sprinkle the contents with salted chile powder and squeeze a halved lime or two over the fruit. A plastic fork. A perfect breakfast. An ode to fruit carts, in photos. All photos by Nanette Gonzales.
