Almost everyone in the modern times has at least heard of Oprah Winfrey and her world famous show where she helped people change their lives in various ways. It was ‘feel-good’ television that people had grown to love and would look forward to. The show aired successfully for well over two decades and inspired many people. One such individual was Darriel Roy who grew up watching Oprah’s show and fell in love with how she impacted & inspired people. We got in touch with Darriel to talk about, “The Darriel Roy Show,” which was inspired by Oprah and here’s how it went!
Can you tell our readers a little about, “The Darriel Roy Show?”
Well, in it’s essence my show is very similar to what Oprah did. It was inspired by what her show represented; to help people live their best lives and to showcase anything is possible. I wanted to create a space where people can come and openly talk about their lives, their struggles and how they overcame obstacles because that’s the kind of stuff that so many people go through every single day. It is important for them to know that they are not alone. I truly feel that people need inspirational content and I’m committed to creating a platform that does just that.
You worked as a journalist before starting your own tv show is that correct?
Yes, I have worked as a journalist and a TV host for many years. It was a successful career but I wanted to do more, I wanted to help people and inspire them, that’s how the Darriel Roy show came into existence. It’s been a long journey and tons of hard work to get me to this point but I couldn’t be happier to have my own platform and do what I truly love – to inspire the world to live their best life!
During your time as a journalist, you worked with numerous A list personalities, some of which you are bringing aboard your show, Why is that?
The reason for my brining celebrities and entrepreneurs to the platform is because when celebrities talk the world listens. I figured, by having public figures and entrepreneurs, this would catch people’s attention initially while also delivering the message that the path to success doesn’t come easy. All the celebrities and entrepreneurs I have on my show, share their secrets to success in hopes to inspire our viewers that they too can achieve their dreams through hard work, perseverance and importantly a strong belief in oneself.
