Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are proof that great comedy comes in twos. Since 2012, the MADtv alums (and recent profilees in the Weekly's People issue) have been spoofing racial stereotypes and pop culture on their Comedy Central sketch series, Key & Peele. They have an endlessly quotable cast of characters: the Valets, two movie-obsessed hotel valets, who put an “s” after every word; LaShawn and Samuel, a straight-man/funny-man gay couple; Wendell Sanders, an overweight, cosplaying nerd; and Barack Obama and his angry translator, Luther (“I got a birth certificate, you dumb-ass crackers!”). With major magazine covers, upcoming film roles and TV guest spots, the two are no longer small potatoes. Before Hollywood completely ruins them, Key and Peele sit down for a live-streaming discussion with Patton Oswalt in anticipation of their show's fourth season, airing this fall. The fellow comic is a big fan; last year Oswalt tweeted his favorite Key & Peele sketch about hotels that offer free continental breakfast, calling it “perfection.” High praise from a man famous for describing KFC's Famous Bowl as a “failure pile in a sadness bowl.” (Live stream begins at 8:15 p.m. via paleycenter.org.) Paley Center for Media, 465 N. Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills; Mon., June 9, 8 p.m.; $25, $15 members. (310) 786-1091, paleycenter.org.
