Although pear juice has loads of nutritional compounds, it often doesn’t rank on lists of the “healthiest fruit drinks.” However, considering all the antioxidant-rich powerhouses in the fruit juice department, you could understand why pear juice often gets overshadowed.

For instance, pomegranate juice has been gaining a lot of attention amongst nutritionists. Multiple studiesshow this tart juice has high concentrations of an antioxidant known as anthocyanin. Not only is anthocyanin beneficial for our health, it’s what gives fruits like pomegranate their beautiful purplish color.

Speaking of purple-hued produce, beet juice is one veggie drink that scores phenomenal results in multiple trials. Many athletes swear by using a bit of beet juice to give them an all-natural energy boost. As a bonus, beet juice has one of the lowest concentrations of natural sugars.

While all of these juices have phenomenal benefits, we bet they won’t taste as good as pear juice mixed with bourbon. However, don’t let us stop you from experimenting with other fruity (or veggie!) flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz bourbon
  • 2 oz pear juice
  • ½ oz lemon juice
  • 1 oz honey syrup
  • Ginger ale, to top
  • 1 dropperful Tribe CBD oil
  • Fresh pear or ginger, sliced

 Instructions

  • Pour bourbon, pear juice, lemon juice, and honey syrup in a cocktail shaker
  • Add ice and shake for a few seconds
  • Strain into an ice-filled Collins glass
  • Top with ginger ale
  • Garnish with Tribe CBD oil and pear or ginger slices

Despite the increased popularity of CBD cocktails, nobody’s sure how this cannabinoid interacts with alcohol. At this point, the only scientific studies on CBD’s potential interactions with alcohol come from rat model studies.

For instance, one trial out of the University of Kentucky examined topical CBD’s effects on mice with alcohol-related brain damage. Interestingly, researchers found that regular applications of CBD oil reduced brain cell damage by almost 50 percent.

While this data is preliminary, it suggests CBD may have natural neuroprotective effects. Whether this is related to CBD’s antioxidant content or its anti-inflammatory properties has yet to be determined. Hopefully, as more people study CBD’s effect on alcohol, doctors will better understand how to use it effectively.
