Fatal Semi-Truck v Pickup-Truck Accident near Old River Road in Taft

TAFT, CA (June 18, 2021) – Tuesday afternoon, Amy Alteneder was killed in a crash between a semi-truck and a pickup-truck on Highway 119.

The incident occurred around 2:00 p.m., on June 8. Emergency crews arrived shortly after.

Per reports, a woman driving a tan pickup truck was heading north on Old River Road when she veered onto Taft Highway, and struck an eastbound semi-truck.

Due to the extent of her condition, Alteneder died at the scene. Moreover, paramedics transported the passenger, Alteneder’s husband, to a nearby hospital.

Meanwhile, the driver of the semi-truck remained at the scene and did not sustain any injuries.

Later on, the coroner’s office identified the deceased victim as 54-year-old Amy Alteneder.

Bakersfield authorities closed down Taft Highway for approximately three hours to conduct an investigation. Once available, more information will be released.
