No, he doesn't know where Osama is. No, he's not packing a bomb. And no, he can't explain why gas prices increase, either. The only thing Iranian-born, Bay Area-bred comic Maz Jobrani skewers are the prejudices against Muslim Americans. He has performed with the Axis of Evil Comedy Tour, featuring other comedians originally hailing from the Middle East, and appeared in countless TV shows, including The Colbert Report, Better Off Ted and The Knights of Prosperity. The really good news is that you'll be seeing more of Jobrani, who is taking on the role of family patriarch in the TV sitcom adaptation of Firoozeh Dumas' 2002 memoir of growing up Persian in SoCal, Funny in Farsi. Until then, catch his soon-to-be (or should be) YouTube series Johnny Vestvood, which has Jobrani playing a heavy cologne-wearing crime fighter in Westwood, who still lives with his mother. And if you still cannot pronounce Ahmadinejad, Jobrani has a helpful tip: Practice repeating “I'm gonna need a job” really fast, and voila, you're bilingual. Jobrani will be joined by Kvon, Sam Tripoli, Ian Edwards and Chris D'Elia.
