Pedestrian-Auto Collision near Hargrave Street Left 28-Year-Old Banning Woman Dead

BANNING, CA (February 2, 2023) – Monday evening, a pedestrian accident along Interstate 10 claimed the life of Alyssa Phelps

The incident happened at around 6:20 p.m. on eastbound I-10, east of Hargrave Street in Banning. 

For reasons currently unknown, Phelps was walking along the shoulder of the freeway when she stepped into the slow lane. As a result, a red Honda struck her. The impact of the collision left the woman with serious injuries.

According to reports, the Honda pulled over immediately and notified authorities.

First responders to the crash declared 28-year-old Alyssa Phelps, of Banning, dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, California Highway Patrol closed down the number 3 and 4 lanes of the Interstate to investigate the collision.
