42-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Collision in Northeast Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 18, 2021) – Saturday evening, Alonso Dela Rosa was killed in a pedestrian crash on Auburn Street.

Around 6:14 p.m., police responded to the scene at the 4200 block of Auburn Street in Northeast Bakersfield.

According to reports, the driver of a vehicle struck 42-year-old, Dela Rosa. However, the circumstances surrounding the collision remain unclear.

Shortly after, paramedics responded and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Furthermore, the driver remained on site and cooperated with investigators.

Following preliminary investigations, police said alcohol, drugs or speed did not appear to be factors in the incident. Although, an active investigation to determine further details is still currently underway.

Additionally, records indicated the accident as the 46th pedestrian fatality in Kern County this year.
