Solo-Car Accident on Murrieta Hot Springs Road Results in Fatality

MURRIETA, CA (August 19, 2021) – 48-year-old Allison Brighton died after her car plowed into a bridge abutment on Tuesday afternoon.

The fatal crash happened around 3:00 p.m. August 10, on Murrieta Hot Springs Road, just east of Sky Canyon Drive.

According to the CHP, Brighton was headed south on Sky Canyon in her 2016 Kia Forte when she apparently lost control and plowed into bridge on Murrieta Hot Springs.

Despite life-saving efforts, Brighton was pronounced dead on scene.

As per preliminary reports, she was only traveling at 20 to 30 mph. Police suspect that a medical condition played a role in the crash, but they are still awaiting autopsy results.

No other information about the crash was released but an active investigation is underway.
