10-Year-Old Boy Killed in Multi-Car Accident near 32nd Street
AHWATUKEE, AZ (June 26, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, Allen Michael Johnson was arrested after a fatal crash on South Mountain Loop 202.
The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m., near 32nd Street on May 20th.
According to reports, a vehicle driven by Johnson was seen traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of the freeway. There, the vehicle collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle, causing a pile-up. Police said that a total of five vehicles were involved in the wreck.
As a result, a 10-year-old kid died at the scene and he was identified as a passenger of Johnson’s.
Also, multiple others were injured including a 10-year-old boy, a 33-year-old man, a 20-year-old woman, and another adult.
In addition, the mother and a 5-year-old sibling of the deceased were in the vehicle and suffered injuries. Johnson was identified as the boyfriend of the mother.
Police then arrested 34-year-old Allen Michael Johnson, who was intoxicated at the time of the crash, on charges of aggravated assault and second-degree murder.
