Zach Pollack is opening Alimento for a one-night staff fundraiser with a special takeout menu featuring some of the restaurant’s classic dishes, all priced for $12 plus retail wine available from 4-7 p.m. One hundred percent of all food sales will go to the restaurant’s GoFundMe page: gofundme.com/f/alimento-cosa-buona-staff-would-love-your-help. The Habit Burger Grill is serving healthcare professionals during this challenging time.  The Habit Burger Grill has deployed its fleet of food trucks to host 27 events near hospitals throughout California to give back to health care professionals by providing over 8,000 complimentary meals. In order to maintain social distancing, they are having a few representatives pick up meals from the truck every 15 minutes in lieu of accumulating a line of guests.

  • April 2: Garfield Medical Center, 525 N Garfield Ave., Monterey Park; Keck Hospital USC; 1500 San Pablo Street, Boyle Heights.
  • April 3: USC Verdugo Hills Hospital; 1812 Verdugo Blvd., Glendale.

The Venice Way Pizza takeout window at the Hotel Erwin is open for takeaway from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.: cheese and veggie ($4), pepperoni and the daily special ($4.50), and the house salad for $5. Pan pizzas are starting at $22 and include nine slabs. Cut from 15×15 inch custom-made pans, the pizza style blends a variety of pan pizza traditions, including Detroit-style pizza with its uber-crunchy bottom crust, Roman pizza al taglio with its light and airy crumb, and Sicilian focaccia.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is doing their part to help families get through COVID-19. For a limited time, they are offering their Texas-style barbecue to kids for free every Sundays for all delivery and carryout orders when guests use the code KEFOLO.

Starting today through Thursday, April 16, The Cheesecake Factory is offering a complimentary free slice of cheesecake for all orders of $30 or more through DoorDash.
