Metro Officer Injured in Hit-and-Run Collision near Charleston Street

LAS VEGAS, NV (January 21, 2022) – Authorities arrested Alicia Jones following a hit-and-run crash on Redwood Street, Tuesday afternoon.

According to authorities, the crash happened around 1:30 p.m., near the intersection of Charleston and Redwood Street.

According to the police, 22-year-old Jones was heading west in a 2005 Dodge Neon on Charleston and attempted to turn left on Redwood road. For reasons unknown, she failed to yield the right of way to an officer.

As a result, she collided into the left side of the police motorcycle. Jones instantly fled the scene but was later located and arrested.

Due to the impact of the collision, the officer sustained several broken bones, including a broken left tibia and fibula, a broken left collarbone, and a broken left foot and toes.

Shortly after, Jones was taken into custody and is currently facing several charges at the Clark County Detention Center. In addition, Jones admitted that she panicked and immediately left after the crash.

Alicia Jones told also told police that she did not have driver’s license or insurance and the Dodge vehicle was not registered.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further details is currently underway.
