The Next Food Network Star: Alice Waters? Probably not. But according to the AP, the Chez Panisse founder and champion of edible gardening is considering the Kindness of Televisions. Waters says that she's in the early stages of talks about doing her own television program, ideally on PBS.

“Some of my heroes of cooking have been on PBS in the past,” she said. (Julia Child, Jacques Pépin leap to mind.) “I feel like I need to be in a place where I can bring a lot of different people into that kitchen.” The possible show might feature various guests, such as farmers and suppliers to Chez Panisse, but don't get your hopes up for any Berkeley-based reality show. Alice's Restaurant is not exactly Hell's Kitchen. Although it would be kind of funny to see Waters haul kids out of some McDonald's and rehab them in a KQED studio.
