Bad news for connoisseurs of posh imported teas, good news for lovers of black rattans: Algabar Home & Life, mid-city purveyor of tea, fragrance and home decor, will be closing its Los Angeles location at the end of September, and everything in the store (with the exception of tea and tea accessories) is now 50% off. Devo-teas (couldn't resist) will have the opportunity to recreate the shop in their own home as stone top counters, cabinets and book cases, consoles, antique tasting bars, rock crystal chandelier, tables and chairs will all be on sale everyday until September 27, when the shop closes its doors permanently.

But Algabar representatives encourage their clientele not to worry, their specialty teas will continue to be available at different retailers throughout the city, including The Montage Beverly Hills and Saks Fifth Avenue. Coolhaus will continue to offer ice cream infused with Algabar tea. And their catering division, Fête Du Thé, will continue to plan parties featuring tea-infused food and cocktails.

Coolhaus will be stopping by the shop for one last visit on Tuesday September 15, from 7-9 p.m. For information about Algabar teas and upcoming events from Fête Du Thé, visit their website or follow LATeaGirl on twitter.
